Lisa Carlyle
As a child, I saw things differently to my friends and family and was often teased for being different; I didn't understand the mainstream way of viewing the world.
We were not religious but I spoke to God every night as I knew there was something more to this life than what I saw or was being conditioned to conform to. Yoga and its eloquent philosophy as well as Buddhist teachings made so much sense to me and I felt like I belonged to this way of seeing things.
When my life took a massive turn during a painful separation whilst pregnant with my 2nd child and raising a 3 year old, I suddenly realized that I could do anything I wanted. The ground had already fallen out from underneath me and there was nothing to lose, I was open and free. The funny thing about feeling "groundless" is that as much as it is scary, you tend to do things for the right reasons because there's no ego attached and you develop a greater sense of what you are and what you want on a very deep level. I finally had the courage to go after my dreams and live a more meaningful and purpose filled life.
I began to explore Reiki and other spiritual practices as well as studying a Bachelor of Health Science. When my newborn turned 1 year old, I enrolled in Yoga teacher training and yoga soon became a strong passion alongside raising my girls. I loved knowing that in some way I'd be offering my services, this also steered me away from wallowing in self-pity.
I now run retreats and teach people how to meditate. I facilitate courses, group meditations and connect people to small communities within their cohort as well as our whole community of meditators.
I believe facing my fears has caused me to deepen and widen my sense of love & bravery.
My mission is to help people connect to the truth of themselves and ultimately to each other.
